The ABB Cary office was selected to house the ABB Human Resources Service Center and the ABB Shared Accounting Services, the new headquarters for all human resources and accounting services functions for all employees in the United States.

In September 2011, the company announced that it would build a new manufacturing facility in Huntersville, a $90 million investment.  ABB plans to manufacture high-voltage land cables for power transmission at the Huntersville factory.
