North Carolina Cities Rank at the Top of fDi’s “American Cities of the Future.”

fDi Magazine study says several North Carolina cities have attributes needed for future growth.

Thanks to a combination of economic development ingredients, Raleigh, Charlotte, Greenville, Cary and Durham rank highly on fDi Magazine’s 2011 “American Cities of the Future” list. In fact, these five cities rank in the top 10 in 12 different economic development categories.

To create the “American Cities of the Future” list, fDi Magazine combined a mixture of expert opinions and data that determined the “cities that have the best prospects for inward investment, economic development and business expansion.” The research was compiled from more than 400 cities in North and South America and composed into seven categories: Economic Potential, Human Resources, Cost Effectiveness, Quality of Life, Infrastructure, Business Friendliness and FDI Promotion Strategy.
