Industrial Road Access Program

Administered by North Carolina’s Department of Transportation, this program provides funds for the construction of roads to provide access to new or expanded industrial facilities.

An access review committee comprised of representatives of the Department of Transportation performs a technical review of a requested project and makes recommendations about traffic and safety concerns.

Approval is based upon the resulting economic benefits of the project including the number of new jobs created, the amount of capital investment, highway’s use and the area’s economic conditions.
